Hey Chris, thanks for the “high tech” answer to the Twitter problem. Your no insight answer is a bust. The problem is Twitter not a forgotten password. Cheer up pal!

I don’t know anything about Dennis Pratt or the people running the New Hampshire Libertarian party. I do know that there are a few libertarians who have the notion, absurd for those who believes in liberty and individual rights, that things would have been better if the Confederacy had won the Civil War. The idea usually is that since the present federal government is too large, too powerful, and too hostile to freedom, and since the union Lincoln saved has become that federal government, a confederate victory would have prevented that development. (They sometimes also throw in some complaints about Lincoln’s alleged overly harsh behavior toward the traitors.) The first error here is that the conclusion does not follow from the premises. No one can know what a confederate victory would have meant for the future development of government in a defeated or stalemated Union. The second and far worse error is that even if the conclusion were to be accepted, it would be irrelevant to the question of who was right and who was wrong in the Civil War. The confederates rebelled to preserve slavery and said so at the time. The Union was right and the Confederacy was profoundly, inexcusably wrong. It would be charitable to say that the self-labeled libertarians who do not see this are only confused, thoughtless and/or poorly informed about history. A less charitable but fair reaction would be skepticism of their understanding of and commitment to liberty and at least questions about their ideas on race.

I did get off this past weekend. The only reason I was still on was @RadioFreeTom. I was a little in love with him. But principle is better.

I don't get bothered by Twitter content because I only follow OnlyFans content creators...yes, I admit it--I'm there for SMUT GLORIOUS SMUT. Until Elon starts making sexual content for gay audiences (<BARF>...no one wants to see that man out of his clothes...all that alleged money and he cannot get a personal trainer), I'm going to just go on following Drew Valentino and Silvia Saige for as long as they choose to post. As long as Elon stays out of my eyeline, I stay out of his.

If Musk is going to act like a Putin oligarch, maybe he should be sanctioned like one.

I had intended to download my followers to upload to a new platform..but I just deleted the app. I had to do it. Have not been on the app since last Sunday when I saw Musk with the Murdochs. The Starlink Ukraine decision was the final straw. Good riddance!! Thanks JVL !

Elon Musk is a spendy idiot. He forces himself onto the front page by doing outrageous things with his apparent vast wealth. Imagine using that wealth for good rather than evil - like Mark Cuban. Elon Musk is very much like TFG and deserves to rot in Hell with him. What if everyone stopped paying attention to Musk and Trump? If they disappeared, the world would be a better place.

I think one of the bad legacies of the 1960s is anti-establishment views for the sake of being anti-establishment. Somehow many political views convince themselves that they are anti-establishment or only liberal Democrats are the establishment even if said person works in banking like Youngkin. This also somehow combines with a desire to be the too cool kid at the back of class forever. Democrats are the nerdy good kids

I have never been on twitter and have no intention of ever being on twitter. When I think about twitter I think about a story I heard some months before twitter started. It was basically why do the birds in your backyard tweet. Basically people who research that sort of thing had discovered birds tweet to let each other know where they are and what they are doing no matter how inane no matter if they are in sight of all the other birds. You know, like "I am sitting on the bush" "I am under the bush" "I just got a worm" on and on and when twitter launched sure enough that was pretty much exactly what it was. Sorry I don't particularly care where the other birds are and what inane activity they are currently engaged in and can't imagine why anyone else does either.

Here’s the deal on Twitter--if you don’t need a “platform” for whatever it is you’re try to accomplish in life or you are blessed to already have one, easy to say burn twitter to the ground. But if you are trying to build something as a writer or artist or whatever, there’s nothing better than Twitter. And you need the blue checks to amplify you. Good luck getting a book deal for instance without a robust twitter following. Elon hurts the little people the most.

Do you guys think Sohrab Amari and guys like Baseball Crank realize this extreme contrarianism but can’t go back because of pride or hatred or both?

I quit Twitter the day Musk reinstated the Daily Stormer guy. I seriously feel way better mentally, and I rediscovered my love for books with all that free time. Found a great new horror author I love named Grady Hendrix.

As far As the Libertarians... sadly, twelve years ago I was reading stuff like Rothbard and considered myself Libertarian. What a complete embarrassment these people have become.

I left twitter today, not be cause of musk, or greene or boebert, but they are a sympton of the problem and that is twitter is not fun. it's angry and mean, like that bully in the 3rd grade. and worse yet, it turns you into a bully if you're not careful...or leave.

It shouldn't even need to be said by now. Whatever tiny "benefits" you think you are getting from engaging with that stupid blue bird website are but a minute fraction of a fraction compared to the harms the bird website is doing to you as an individual and society at large. Please, get off twatter now. Not next week, not "I'll just cut back," not "I'll take a break for a month," NOW. If not sooner.
